Mark Zorko is an international public company CFO and CIO for manufacturing, energy, medical device, and high-tech firms. His background includes over 20 years of board-level experience. Mark chairs the Audit Committee of the Board of Westell Technologies, Inc. (NASDAQ:WSTL). He previously chaired the Nominations & Governance, Audit and Strategic Advisory Committees and served on the Compensation Committee of Perma Pipe Int’l Holdings (NASDAQ:PPIH) over a ten year period. He spent the last seven years as the CFO of two public firms affiliated with Steel Partners; a public energy industry firm, Steel Excel, Inc. (SXCL); and a medical imaging firm, DGT Holdings (DGTC). His CFO experience is primarily with growth-oriented businesses but also includes turnaround positions with $550-million and $180-million businesses. Mark has also been the CEO of Well Services Ltd., a $30-million Steel Excel business in the services industry.
Mark has significant European and Asian experience as well as experience as a CIO. He is a member of the National Association of Corporate Directors and has completed the credentialing for its Leadership Fellow and its Cyber-Risk certifications. Mark was a co-founder of Brentwood in 2013.
Mark received his MBA in IT from the University of Minnesota and his bachelor degree in accounting from The Ohio State University. After completing his MBA, Mark began his career as a CPA at Arthur Andersen, and worked his way up via the controllership ranks at Honeywell and Zenith Data Systems in the U.S. and Europe. During his career, he has been actively involved with leading lean manufacturing and Asian sourcing initiatives.
Mark was on the Finance & Audit Committees for the Alexian Brothers Health System (revenue of $1 billion) and served on the Audit Committee for Opportunity International (assets of $500 million).
