Lloyd Chatfield serves as outside general counsel to small and mid-size companies in the manufacturing, chemicals, real estate, retail and professional services industries. Lloyd has 25 years of legal experience, in both in-house and private practice roles, and has acted as general counsel for Fortune 500 companies, start-ups and private equity ventures.
Lloyd counsels boards of directors and senior management teams on the full panoply of legal issues, with an emphasis on commercial, M&A, human resources, regulatory and general corporate matters. In addition to his extensive experience as a business counselor, Lloyd has substantial trial experience, and assists companies in managing complex litigation and claims matters, including product liability, commercial disputes, employment law matters and business torts.
Lloyd’s international experience includes two years in Brussels as European General Counsel for a $1 billion subsidiary of a Fortune 500 company, as well as extensive transactional experience in Asia Pacific and Latin America.
Lloyd is a graduate of the University of Tampa and the University of Kentucky College of Law, where he served as editor-in-chief of the Kentucky Law Journal. Lloyd is licensed to practice law in Illinois and Kentucky.
